Top 10 Learnings in the First 24

When on our first bus adventure back in the fall of 2019, below is a list of the top 10 things we learned in the first 24 hours on the road in our converted school bus!

1. SurS - aka Secure Your Shit people!

2. MN road >> MT road (ain’t no joke) - this could also be because our suspension went out on the rear wheels which we found out once we did a deep dive in MT.

3. Contrary to popular belief, ND gets freaking HOT.

4. We are not diesel mechanics

5. We are trained, however, to problem solve on the fly

6. Ruby is a bit of a hot head - it’s her mode of communication

7. Unwritten rules of truckers (yes, they exist) - earn your spot on the playground.

8. If you sit at a rest stop with your hood open, good people flock

9. Time is irrelevant (&google maps will never understand WHY you are driving 20 under the SL)

10. Best Dutch Star home on wheels = $380k+, homemade RV Ruby bus = PRICELESS.

Only Day 1 and already feeling so much smarter :)
